Loana Price
Junction, Utah
On Wednesday, January 19, 2022, our dear, dear mother, Loana Thompson Price, saw our father’s hand reach through the veil, hold her by the hand and guide her home, back to our Father in Heaven’s arms. There she is reunited with our dad, her parents, brothers and sisters, and many, many other family members who predeceased her. There Mom and Dad are lighting up Heaven’s dance floor and loving being together again. We, as children, many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and close friends are heartbroken that both of our parents have passed on to the other side so close together. We can only know and believe that their missions have been completed in this life.
Loana was born October 20, 1935 to William and Thelda Halladay Thompson in Circleville, Utah. There, she had brothers and sisters from a mixed family: Don, Palma, Virginia, Aleta, Bill, Charmaine, and then after Loana was born another brother, Darwin. All who have passed on—she was the last to go.
Loana loved dancing, baking, getting together and visiting in any kind of setting, but mainly family get-togethers. She had a great love for her Heavenly Father and a tremendous testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
She graduated high school in May 1953 and married her high school sweetheart, Guy Eugene Price on November 12, 1953 in the Manti Temple. They moved to Henderson, NV, where they had two sons: Keith and Paul. Soon after Paul was born they moved back to Junction (Little Zarahemla), where they had three more children: Chad, Pamela and Melanee. Guy preceded her in death on January 7, 2022.
After the family was raised Loana worked at Stan’s store, the Junction Post Office, and the Circleville Sewing Plant. She was also the librarian at Piute High School. She taught junior prom promenades for 40+ years,( all the kids loved her). When State Bank of Southern Utah built a branch in Circleville, she was hired as a teller and worked there for 25½ years. She retired when she was 72.
Loana loved baking bread. She would bake every Thursday and distribute bread to friends, family and Stan’s store where there were special orders placed.
She loved to stay busy, serve others and visit people. If you needed to know something about what was going on around the valley, all you had to do was ask Mom. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children: Keith (Rolene), Paul (Barbara), Chad, Pam (Wesley) Erickson, and Melanee (Nuel) Anderson, along with 23 grandchildren and 60 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: LaKay Holman and JoAnn Thompson. Also preceded in death by her parents; and all her siblings.
