John Skyler Jones, 75, passed away on November 1, 2021 at his home in Richfield. He was born on October 31, 1946 in St. George to George Holyoak and Lela Carmon Smith Jones. He married Patricia Ann Barney on June 27, 1968 in the Manti Temple.
In high school, John was the football quarterback. After high school he joined the National Guard. He was also involved in the bowling league.
A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, John served in many callings, including being in a bishopric. He was always willing to help in many ways. He could build or fix just about anything.
John is survived by his wife, Trish; children: Skyler Lance (Holly) Jones, Washington City; Clinton George Jones, Richfield; Jenni Lee Jones, Richfield; son-in-law, Curtis Racker, Washington City; 12 grandsons and 2 great-granddaughters; siblings: Verleen Jones, Sevier; Leila (Golden) Obray, Sevier; Richard (Myrna ) Jones, Sevier; Celia (Barry) Monroe, Scipio, Carol (Arlan) Dopp, Monroe; Thomas Jones, Sevier; Twila (Ray) Owens, Joseph; Terry (Kay) Monroe, Monroe; Alonzo (Brooke) Jones, Sevier.
Preceded in death by his parents; daughters: Jamie Racker and Jodie Ann Jones; brother-in-law, Bruce Jones.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 12:00 Noon in the Richfield 4th Ward Chapel. Friends may call Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Magleby Mortuary or Saturday morning at the ward chapel from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery with military honors by the V.F.W.
