DeVon Poulson, 91, passed away April 18, 2017, at his home in St. George, Utah beside his wife of 70 years. He was born September 18, 1925 to James Christian and Sarah Ann Robinson Poulson in Richfield, Utah.

DeVon married Elsie Adelia Hooper on September 18, 1946 in Richfield and one year later had their marriage solemnized in the Manti Temple. They lived shortly in Modesto, California; Layton, Utah; St George, Utah; and over 64 years in Richfield, Utah where they raised their family together.

The family spent their summers together in Fishlake, Utah, where they built a cabin in 1977. The cabin was DeVon and Adelia’s favorite place to spend time with their family and has been the site of many reunions and memories over the years.

DeVon was very involved in many church and civic responsibilities. He was a barber by trade and spent 26 years as the Sevier County Clerk/Auditor. He also served as a city councilman during the Richfield City Centennial. Upon retirement, DeVon and Adelia served together on 5 missions beginning with Nauvoo from December 1989 - December 1990, Tongan Temple from January 1992 - March 1992, Washington, D.C. Temple from April 1992 - April 1993, Chicago Temple from July 1998 - July 1999 and the Mesa, Arizona Visitor Center from November 2000 to November 2001. They also served in Cove Fort for one year and as ordinance workers in the Manti and St George Temples together for over 14 years.

DeVon is survived by his wife Adelia; children: Kimball (Cindy) Poulson, Karey (Joy) Poulson, Kris (Sherri) Poulson, Kevin (Jennifer) Poulson, Kent (Kimberly) Poulson; son-in-law Woody Haycock; sister, Anna Lou Allen, DeVon enjoyed spending time with his 24 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Helen Haycock; grandson, Brian Poulson; great-grandson, Frederick D Luekenga; and 12 siblings.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 24, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. in the Richfield 7th Ward Chapel, 159 North 400 West. Friends may call at the ward chapel on Sunday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m and again Monday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Richfield City Cemetery.
