Zelma Christena Jensen Kelly, 91, passed away March 9, 2012 in Centerfield. She was born in Centerfield to Alexus and Christena  Jensen on March 29, 1921.
She attended elementary school in Centerfield, graduated from Gunnison Valley High School, graduated from Snow College and went on to BYU where she received her teaching certificate.
Her first year of teaching was in the Centerfield Elementary School, and then two years at the Gunnison Valley High School.  She then moved to Tooele where she taught at Tad Park Elementary.  When the military based closed, she taught at  Harris Elementary in Tooele where she remained for at least 50 more years.
It was teaching at Tad Park that put her and Wallace Patrick Kelly together.  They were married May 31, 1946 and built their home in Tooele where they lived for 65 years.  He preceded her in death March 25, 2010.
Zelma’s parents, five siblings and in-laws preceed her in death: Margaret Thomson, Rignel and wife Twyla Jensen, Moyle and wife DeOn Jensen, Robert Jensen, Ivan and wife Madge Jensen.  She is survived by her brother, Eugene and wife Nancy Jensen; a sister, Elva and husband Mardell Jensen and sister-in-law, Marjorie Jensen.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews that have loved her and she has loved them.
Zelma’s family extends their appreciation to the staff and management of the Centerfield Community Care Center for the love and care shown to Zelma and Wallace during their time of need.  Also thanks to all her friends in Tooele and Centerfield.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 16, 2012 at 12:00 Noon in the Centerfield LDS Ward Chapel, 210 South Main in Centerfield.  Friends may call at the ward chapel in on Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.  Burial will be next to her beloved husband in the Centerfield Cemetery.
