William Owen Warenski

William "Bill" Warenski

Monroe, UT

William "Bill" Owen Warenski, 90, passed away January 23, 2020, at his home in Monroe. Bill was born July 18, 1929 in Joseph to Owen Pliny Warenski and Meta Owens. He married Margaret "Pegi" Beth LeRoy, July 6, 1951, in the Logan LDS Temple. She passed away on May 4, 2002.

Bill grew up in Joseph and Richfield, graduating from Richfield High School. He served in the United States Air Force and received his Bachelor's Degree in Geology from Utah State Agricultural College, Logan, UT. From high school through college he was active in boxing, tennis and softball. He worked for an engineering firm in California as a licensed surveyor specializing in the use of photogrammetric surveying, and eventually owned his own business in photogrammetry. Bill also taught photogrammetry at Yuba College, CA. He dreamed of flying and ultimately obtained his private pilot's license. He was also a professional photographer.

Bill loved western movies, especially John Wayne, and reading Louis L'Amour books. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping with family, fishing, upland game and waterfowl hunting, deer and elk hunting, especially mule deer.

Bill was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he held several callings. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by four children: Russell Craig (Janel) Warenski, Yuba City, CA; Susan (Dale) Dausey and Diane (Craig) Button, Chico, CA; Leslie (Byran) Tanaka, Sacramento, CA; 6 grandchildern, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild on the way; sisters: SueAnn (VerDon) Washburn and Meta (Glade) Shulsen, both of Monroe, UT.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Betty Warenski and Marjorie Farnsworth; brother, Ned George Warenski.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 7, 2020 at 12:00 noon in the Monroe Stake Center, 140 South Main Street, Monroe, Utah. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Friday at the church in Monroe from 10:30 to 11:30 am. Interment will be in the Joseph Cemetery with military honors by the Sevier Valley American Legion Post #37 and Air Force Honor Guard.
