William Richard "Mr. Bill" Smith, 89, passed away September 9, 2014 in Payson, Utah. He was born June 13, 1925 in Canadaiqua, Ontario, New York to Arnot and Francis Bernice Wright Smith. He married Betty Joan Stafford, January 9, 1952 in Beavers Dam, New York. The marriage was later solemnized in the Los Angeles Temple.
He was a WWII Veteran, having served in the Navy. He and his father had a restaurant in New York state. After his marriage to Betty, they moved to Southern California and lived in the Los Angeles area where he worked for the Los Alamedos School District as a gardener. The family moved to Glenwood in 1972.
He is survived by his wife Betty; children: David (Marlene) Smith, Kathleen (Michael) Hurd, Daniel Smith, Laura Sue Smith; seven grandchildren; siblings: Bobby, Forrest, Helen and Betty. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Clifton.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Magleby Mortuary Chapel, where friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and  Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery, where military rites will be provided by the V.F.W Sevier Post #5050 and the Utah Honor Guard.
