William D. "Bill" Rappleye

Our dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, great-great-grandpa, William Don "Bill" Rappleye, 88, passed away January 16, 2017 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born October 28, 1928 in Tropic, Utah to Vernon and Ina Ingram Rappleye. He married Doris Walker, February 11, 1949, they later divorced.
He married Beth Meyer Hawley in December of 1973. This marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She preceded him in death on October 28, 2016.
Bill served in the US Navy. He drove professionally over the road for many years. He loved to read and enjoyed flying and always wanted to obtain a pilot’s licence.
He is survived by his children: Carol (Tony) Martinez, Craig (Pamela) Rappleye, Steve (Renee) Rappleye; step-children: Susan (Dewain) Peterson, Sharon (Charles) Copeland, Charles (Kathleen) Hawley; 22 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Nahna Rappleye. half-brothers, Larry (Pat) Rappleye, Chad (Carolyn) Rappleye, Warren (Sharon) Rappleye and Wayne (Karen) Rappleye; step-brother: Kent (Shirley) Charlesworth; step-sisters: Pat (Bob) Button, Peggy (Leonard) Burton. Preceded in death by parents; and brother, Gaylen Rappleye.
Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary in Richfield for a viewing on Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Graveside services will follow at 12:00 Noon in the Richfield City Cemetery where military honors will be provided by the V.F.W. Sevier Post #5050 and the U.S. Navy Honor Guard..
