William “Bill” Jerome, 83, of Glenwood, Utah, formerly of Tooele, Utah passed away on July 27, 2012 of natural causes. Bill was born in Benicia, California and lived there until moving to Tooele in 1962.
In his young days, Bill loved hunting, fishing, and camping on the northern California coast. He obtained his pilot’s license before he could legally drive a car. He worked at the Benicia Arsenal and retired from the Tooele Army Depot with 35 years of service. After retiring, he volunteered in Tooele including at the railroad museum and the senior citizen center. He was on the Tooele Senior Patrol with his dear friend Marge Kizer, they also volunteered for the Salt Lake Visitors Bureau at the Great Salt Lake and Salt Palace.
He loved taking videos of his grandchildren to share with out of town relatives, cheering on Jeff Gordon, sharing produce from his garden, and his very smart cat, Ling.
He is survived by his daughter Betsy, Salt Lake City; son, Pat (Nancy) and grandchildren: Maddy Lu and Evan, of Glenwood. We will miss our dad and papa.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Glenwood Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
