Wilda W. Larson
1927 - 2015
Wilda Wells Larson, 88, passed away quietly at her home in Richfield on October 21, 2015. She was born August 6, 1927, a surprise twin, 45 minutes after her brother William, in Vineyard, Utah to George Franklin and Malicent Clegg Wells.
Growing up on a farm during the depression she learned to be self reliant, thrifty and hard working. She met her sweetheart, Desmond Orin Larson at BYU and they were married by Ezra Taft Benson on June 4, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple. After Desmond graduated from Optometry School, they moved to Richfield, Utah in 1953, here they raised 6 children and created a loving beautiful home.
Wilda was a talented seamstress, doll maker, quilter, gardener, pianist and singer. She was a wonderful cook and hosted many fabulous family events. She was a homemaker extra ordinaire and a classy, elegant, stylish lady.
She was an active member of the LDS Church and served as president of her ward Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary organizations, among other callings. She and her husband served faithfully in the Manti Temple for 12 years and as missionaries in the Dallas Temple Mission. She has been a perfect example of faith in and love for the Savior, Jesus Christ. Her unconditional love for family, friends and service to others will be greatly missed by all.
Wilda is survived by her children: Dennis (Margie) Larson of Richfield, Ellen (Wayne) Laccoarce of Orem, Brian (Susan) Larson of Vacaville, CA, Gary (Joni) Larson of Salt Lake City, Lisa (Ron) Brown of Draper, Layne Larson of Centerville; 25 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; brothers: twin, William (Colleen) Wells of Farmington, NM, Leland (Lorraine) Wells of Billings, MT.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years; parents; sister, Merlene Bailey and brother, Lewis Wells; grandsons, Brennan Larson, Michael Laccoarce; great-granddaughter, Addie Larson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Richfield 9 th LDS Ward Chapel, 159 North 400 West, where friends may call on Saturday from 11:00 to 12:30 . Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery.
