Wendell Gleave

Wendell V Gleave, 91, passed away peacefully on the morning of July 16, 2021 at his home in Marysvale, Utah. He was born on April 15, 1930 in Widtsoe, to Walter Feldon and Erlean Young Gleave. As a child growing up Wendell lived in Widtsoe, Payson, and Richfield. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Wendell spent nearly 66 years with the love of his life, Mila V Larsen, whom he married in Richfield on August 26, 1955. Together they had three children and raised them in Kearny and Dudleyville, Arizona.
As a young man, Wendell worked for Pearson Crofts, and later went to work as an overhead crane operator for Kennecott Copper Corporation in Ely, Nevada from 1956-1958, then transferred to Hayden, Arizona 1958-1983. Wendell and Vee moved to Marysvale, then to Kanab in 1994, and back to Marysvale in 2001.
Wendell had a kind and loving heart and a great sense of humor. He could often be found helping friends, neighbors, and family with whatever was needed. He and Vee build two of their homes from the ground up. As a younger man Wendell enjoyed hunting, hiking the hills, rock hunting, boating, water skiing, and camping. He loved being in the mountains among the pine trees, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Wendell is survived by his wife, Vee, and his children: Barry (Tammy) Gleave, Globe, AZ; Wendy (Jeff) Vaughn, Kanab,UT; Brian (Barbara) Gleave, Apache Junction, AZ. He has 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; siblings: Robert (Ellie) Gleave, Ogden; Ronalee Allen, West Jordan; and Karlean Utley, Sandy.
Preceded in death by his parents; sister Marian Madonna; and brothers, Merrill and Gerrill.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday July 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m in the Marysvale LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the service.
