Our beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. Wayne "Roper" Baldwin, 63, passed away on Friday November 13, 2015 in Orem, Utah, due to a long battle of a cancer and heart disease. He was born on May 23, 1952 in Richfield, Utah, a son of Harold and Bessie Jensen Baldwin.
Wayne loved the outdoors, riding horses was a true passion of his. He loved hunting and fishing with his family. He was a true cowboy at heart. He had a passion for rodeos. His favorite event was roping in which he gained the nickname "Roper".
He married his soulmate, Donna Gillies, on August 28, 1997 in which he left behind along with his children: Chris (Hilary) Asay, Alissa Hendrickson, Katelyn (Tyler) Julander, Shauntelle Curtis, Marty Trapp, Amber Thomas, Holly Nowers, Lacey Yama; 13 grandchildren; mother, Bessie Baldwin; sister, Sandra Baldwin; brother, Stanley Baldwin; father-in-law, Burke Gillies, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; mother-in-law, LaJauna Gillies.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Monroe Stake Center, 140 South Main, where friends may call on Friday from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Cremation services to follow. Information courtesy of Magleby Mortuary.
