Wayne Allen, 93, passed away March 14, 2015, in Orem. He was born August 12, 1921 in Antimony, Utah, the fifth child of Chester Jahile and LaPrele Flanagan Allen. He married Anna Lou Poulson on November 11, 1951 in Richfield, Utah. They have been married for 63 years.

In 1959 Wayne and his wife Anna Lou moved to Orem where they owned and operated Allen’s Drive-in Cleaners for about 20 years, building it into a thriving business. His bowling team took the state championship. He liked to golf and cut wood with his friends and family. He was a lifetime and active member of the Provo Elks Lodge until his infirmities prevented it. Always ready to lend a hand to family, friends and strangers. A veteran of WWII with the Navy Beach Battalion, he saw action on all fronts and survived the landing on Omaha Beach while having to carry his heavy radio equipment.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Anna Lou; daughter, Linda (Mark) Rosenfeld; grandson, Joel; sister, Joyce Nielson; brother, Calvert (June); and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Drue, Lark (killed in WWII at the battle of the Hertgen Forest), Champ; and sister, Dott.

Funeral services to be held Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 12:00 Noon in the Magleby Mortuary Chapel, 50 South 100 West in Richfield, where friends may call from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery with military rites by the V.F.W.
