Wallace Ray "Wally" Powell, 85, of Salina, passed away November 5, 2012 in Richfield. He was born April 24, 1927 in Murray, Utah to Ralph Clinton and Zelda Sophia Larsen Powell. He married LaRue Peterson, later divorced. He married LuElla Wilkinson, May 21, 1960 in Elko, Nevada.

Wally was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Navy. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening and canning, and most especially family time. He was a truck driver for Arrow Industries and other companies, traveling the country with his wife.

Survived by wife LuElla, Salina; children: Bernice (James) Brogan, Mesquite, NV; Catherine (Robert) Garnett, West Valley; Betty Rae (Earle) Fail, Taylorsville; Larry (Lynne) Haws, Salina; Gerry (Janet) Graves, Salt Lake City; Clinton (Tammy) Powell, Elsinore; Georgia Lewis, Salina; Debra Lawrence, West Valley; Tony Lawrence, Wendover, NV; Michele (Butch) Salamanikas, West Valley; 35 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous foster children; siblings: Verla (Robert) Timmerman, Salt Lake City; Ronald (Afton) Powell, Salt Lake City; Nancy Dalton, Murray.

Preceded in death by parents; son, Earl Lawrence; son-in-law, Skip Lewis; brothers: Leo and Dale.

Cremation services have been held. Memorial service will be held Saturday November 10, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. in the LDS chapel located at 2030 W. Chateau Ave. Taylorsville UT. Friends may call after 10:45 a.m. A 2 nd memorial service will be held Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 2:00 p.m in the Richfield Bible Church, 980 No. SR 118 Central Valley.
