Vonda Julander

Vonda Bly Hunt Julander, truly beloved of her family, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2015 at Sevier Valley Medical Center in Richfield, Utah. Vonda was born July 18 1929, the second of nine children to John Donald and Marvell Ann Utley Hunt, in Sevier, Utah. She grew up and graduated from South Sevier High School where she participated in many activities such the drama club and drummer for the high school band.
Soon after graduation she married the dashing WW11 Navy-man and love of her life, Gene V. Julander (also from Monroe) on September 5, 1947 in Fredonia, Arizona. The marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple on July 20, 1960. They lived in various places the first five years of their marriage, but finally settled in Richfield where they have lived for the past 62 years. They have been blessed with three children, 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren—all of whom were the very breath she took. Her life's work and joy was in serving her posterity.
Vonda was an active member in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life. She has served in many callings, including the Young Women's presidency, Primary presidency and as Relief Society president. She also worked in the genealogy extraction program and the work force program. Vonda and Gene served two working missions: one at Cove Fort and one in the Manti Temple.
Vonda was a published writer, an avid gardener and genealogist. She was a talented seamstress, cook and scrapbooker. She loved to hunt, fish, dance, and grow beautiful flowers. She especially loved music of any kind. Her sisters and brothers were her dearest friends and she looked forward to their yearly family reunions with much anticipation.
Vonda is survived by her husband Gene; daughters: Linda Kay (Bardell) Hunt, Tammy Lynn (Duane) Schneider; and son, Larry Gene Julander; her 11 grandchildren, 24 of her 25 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters: Betty Christensen, Nedra (Thad) Nielsen, Ila Dean (Dale) Hunstman, Mary Ann (Kirby) Parker, Patricia (David) Simonson; and brother, Cecil (Annette) Hunt.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Gerald and Donald Joe Hunt; and great-grandson, Tyson Hunter Ogden.
Mom, you have been the rock that cements us, the love that envelops us, the strength that drives us, the perfect example that inspires us and the hope that keeps us going. You are the reason we believe in eternal families and are the inspiration that pushes us to persevere. We will miss you terribly but will carry your legacy with us in all we do and in all that we become. We love you as deeply as you have loved us.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. in the Richfield 15 th LDS Ward Chapel, 200 East Center. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m and at the ward chapel on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Monroe Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
