Vilate McKinnon Lloyd, 93, returned to her Father in Heaven, September 6, 2012, in Monroe, surrounded by her family who will mourn her passing and celebrate her reunion with her husband, daughter and many others who preceded her in death. She was born May 29, 1919, in Randolph, Utah, to Archibald and Pearl Muir McKinnon. She married Elbert W Lloyd, April 24, 1938, in Randolph, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple on May 29, 1944. He preceded her in death on January 26, 1985, in Richfield, Utah.
Vilate was a life long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions. Her kind acts of service to her family, friends and others will be her legacy. She never knew how not to serve others.
She is survived by her children, RaNae (Lee) Bodine, Evanston, WY; Cheryl Young, Holbrook, AZ; and Delbert (Kathleen) Lloyd, Aurora; 14 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert; daughter, Yvonne Lloyd; parents; sons-in-law, Neil Young and Rees “Tubb” Nicholls; and all her brothers and sisters. She was the last of the McKinnon children.
Vilate loved her family and her church. She will always be remembered by her family and friends for her sense of humor and unconditional love.
Graveside services and interment will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. in the Randolph Cemetery.
