Vicki W. Zabriskie
Ephraim, Utah
Vicki W. Zabriskie passed away March 8, 2012 in Provo, Utah at the age of 71.
Vicki was born to Earl and Ramona Wahl on May 3, 1940, in Deer Lodge, Montana. She was the second of six children.
In high school she was a competitive swimmer and prom queen. She graduated from St. Patrick's School of Nursing in Missoula, Montana in 1961. She moved to Utah to take her first nursing position at Utah Valley Hospital and met her soon to be husband Richard G. Zabriskie.
Richard and Vicki were married in the Manti LDS Temple on June 28, 1963. They are the parents of four children. They lived in the Provo/Orem area until 1976 when the family moved to Ephraim. Vicki continued to work as an RN at Gunnison Valley Hospital and then later at the Central Utah Health Department as a diabetes educator and school nurse. She retired from her professional life but continued to serve others with her skills in medical matters.
She was well loved in her community and had many friends who will miss her. She was an active member of her church and served in many positions throughout her life. Her last and most cherished position was serving in the Manti Temple. All throughout her life Vicki kept and maintained a beautiful yard that showed her love of gardening. She also loved sewing, quilting, and crafting.
She is survived by her daughter Lisa Z. (Victor) McGinnis; granddaughters: Joan and Morgan; her son, Richard Cary (Kristin) Zabriskie; grandsons: Zach, Jake, and Max; her daughter, Laura Z. (Josh) Hunter; grandchildren: Lance, Brin, and Samantha; and her daughter, Jennifer L. Zabriskie; sister, Gayle (Don) Donich; sister, Pam Peterson; brother, Earl Wahl (Marge); brother, Charles Wahl (Sue); and her dog Ian.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; and her older sister, Darlene.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ephraim LDS Stake Center, 400 E. Center. Friends may call at the stake center in Ephraim on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Ephraim Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
