Our loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Verna LaRue Bown, passed away on September 17, 2014 at the age of 86.
Verna was born in Manti to Kenneth Sr. and Devona Anderson Keisel on April 1, 1928.  She married her childhood sweetheart Carl E. Bown Sr. on June 18, 1946 and together had 10 children.  Verna was a beautiful woman with a generous heart.  She always put others first and did whatever she could to help.  Verna loved the simple things in life, the mountains, hunting, camping, fishing the creek and spending time with her family.  She loved her flower garden, was a phenomenal seamstress and excellent cook.  Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes, because for those who love with heart and soul, there is no separation.
Verna is survived by her children: Danny (Phyills) Bown, Carl Jr (Deb) Bown, Roger (Tonya) Bown, JC (Mike) Christensen, Diane (Brad) Maughan and CrisDee Bown.  She is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband; precious sons, Lonny, Randy, Joe and Jess Bown; sweet grandchildren, Brittany Bown and Jayson Bown.
Graveside services and Interment will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 12:00 noon in the Manti City Cemetery.  Friends may call prior to services at Magleby Mortuary from 10:30-11:30 a.m.  Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.  Online guestbook at www.maglebymortuary.com
