Vergal Sorensen
Aurora, Utah
Our beloved husband, father, brother, friend, and grumpy, Vergal Clifton Sorensen, 53, returned to his Heavenly Father on November 28, 2014 in Aurora. He was born February 21, 1961 in Murray, Utah to Jerald and Mabel "Mickey" Spetsas Sorensen. He was an alumnus of North Sevier High School. He was called and served an LDS mission in Stockholm, Sweden. He married the love of his life, Lillie "Joey" Berry, on March 22, 1985 in Midvale, and later resided in Aurora. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on September 20, 2003.
Vergal touched the souls of many people during his life. His love for his family and friends couldn’t be doubted. He had a deep love for his grandbabies and always had a playful spirit with them. He was a hardworking man who was always willing to help with projects that needed to be done.
Vergal had a great love for the outdoors: hunting, fishing, camping and hiking. He was admired for his garden and the salsa he made from his crops. He was a child at heart and had the power to heighten anyone’s mood. His sarcasm and quick-witted words is something to remember. There was never a time when he didn’t leave you in higher spirits and with a smile on your face. His patience was unceasing and his willingness to teach was incredible. The little things he did to show his love will forever remain in our hearts.
Vergal is survived by his wife of 29 years, Joey; children: Sammi (Brandon) Simpson, Joshua, Jesse, and Lexie; 4 spirited grandbabies: Ashlyn, Makaela, Laine, and Raegan Simpson; mother: Mabel; siblings: Matt (Krista), Terry (Glenn) Ingersoll, Russell (Connie), Cozette, and Ben. Also, many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Jerald.
