Velma Jane LeFevre Elmer left this world with family around her on May 1, 2014 at the age of 78 in Panguitch. She was born December 23, 1935 in Panguitch Utah to Ozro and Dellis Sudeweeks LeFevre. She married "Jim" James Hyrum Elmer, September 29, 1956 in Fredonia, Arizona. He preceded her in death February 10, 2005. Their first home was in Cannonville and later they moved to Panguitch.
Velma loved to be around family. She taught her kids and a few others how to sew, cook, bake, crochet, farming, gardening, and canning. She was a visiting teacher for many years for the LDS Church. She worked as a laundress, maid, and seamstress. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years as well.
We will miss this wonderful and strong woman. She will always be in our hearts. Love you always.
Velma and Jim had five children: Dellis Jane Jack, "Arta" Artimitia (Kenneth) Hepworth, Hyrum J. (Mary) Elmer, and Julia Ann Muirhead, all of Panguitch; Chester Ray (Kita) Elmer, Tropic. She acquired another son, Randy Marcell Muirhead, also of Panguitch; 19 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, with 2 more on the way, and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be on Friday, May 9, 2014 1:00 p.m. in the Panguitch Stake Center where friends may call from 11:00 am to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Panguitch Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti. Online guestbook at www.maglebymortuary.com
