Veda and Max lived in Torrey and Happy Valley before moving to Boulder in 1938, where they bought the ranch owned by Veda’s parents. They ran this ranch for 40 years. Veda was an avid gardener. No one could grow a better garden. Everyone waited until she planted before they planted. She always had to be busy and no one could work as hard as she did. She loved to quilt and made too many quilts to count. She loved all kinds of handiwork. She crocheted, knitted, embroidered and made many beautiful things. Every one of her family has something that she made.
