Vannoy Junior “VJ” Christensen, 70, passed away February 24, 2012 in Redmond. He was born April 7, 1941 in Redmond to Vannoy Peter and Betty Irene Hansen Christensen.
He served in Navy from 1958-63. He worked at Kennecott Copper for 30 years.
He is survived by children: Wade (Geri) Christensen, West Valley City; Brenda (J. Allen) Newton, Montgomery, Alabama; five grandchildren: Nathanael Newton, Nashlee Christensen, Rebekah Newton, Rachel Newton, Crosby Christensen; sister, Louise Taylor, Kearns; brother, Leon (Ginny) Christensen, Redmond.
Preceded in death by parents; siblings Wayne, LaPreel, and Judy; brother-in-law, Allen Taylor.
Graveside services will be held Friday, March 2, 2012 at 12:00 Noon in the Redmond City Cemetery.  Friends and family may call at the Magleby Mortuary, 50 South 100 West in Richfield on Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.  Military rites will be provided by the Redmond American Legion Post. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
