Valene Cherry Aston, 90, passed away May 27, 2017 in Sandy Utah. She was born January 25, 1927 in Ephraim to William Wesley and Ida Jemima Cherry. She married James Allen Aston February 28, 1947 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Later divorced.
Valene was an active member of the LDS Church where she served in the Relief Society in both her home ward and in her college wards.
She was also involved in her community where she served as Ephraim City Treasurer for 17 years, and was a part of the Ephriam Volunteer Fire Department as an EMT.
She is survived by her children: Scott (Norma) Aston, Liberty, Utah; Mark (Debbie) Aston, Draper, Utah; Cherry Beal, Kearns, Utah; DeeWayne (Karen) Aston, Elk Ridge, Utah; 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; brother: John (Afton) Howard, Spanish Fork, Utah.
She is also preceded in death by her parents; step-father, and a sister.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 12:00 Noon in the Ephraim North LDS Ward Chapel, 450 North 200 West, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:30.
