Una Gwen Christensen, 90, of Ephraim, passed away on March 20, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Gwen was born November 18, 1921 in Ephraim to Fredrick Rodney and Amy Lizella Christensen.
Gwen was raised and educated in Ephraim and attended Snow Academy. She married Don LaMar Christensen on November 5, 1942 in the Manti LDS Temple.
Gwen’s greatest love was serving and caring for her husband and family. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, visiting with friends and shopping with her daughters.
Gwen was active in her community and in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Legion Auxiliary, Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, election judge, Relief Society President, Primary President, Stake Relief Society presidency and Mutual presidency.
She is survived by her husband, Don LaMar Christensen; children: Karl Don (Carolyn) Christensen, Ephraim; Amy Sharon (Ronald) Larsen, St. George; Diane (Craig) Oberg, Ephraim; Julie (Karl) Lund, Ephraim; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Her siblings include: Zella Rae, deceased (Lee) Barton; Fredrick “Freddy” Christensen, deceased; Richard, deceased (Beaulah) Christensen; Joseph Gordon (Marcia) Christensen and Mary Amelia (Vern, deceased) Jorgensen. In-laws: Bonnie (Dale, deceased) Nielsen, Gweneth (Moyle, deceased) Christensen. She is also preceded in death by her parents, and grandson, Cortney Don Oberg.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ephraim 6th Ward Chapel, 420 North 200 West. Friends may call on Friday, March 23, 2012 from 6-7 p.m. at the chapel and also on Saturday prior to services from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Ephraim Park Cemetery.
