Trenity Gilbert

Panguitch, Utah

Trenity Dale Gilbert, 18, returned to his Father in Heaven at 10:30, the morning of August 8, 2016 in Richfield. He was born October 24, 1997 in Panguitch to Trampas and Elizabeth Ilkenhans Gilbert.

Trent spent a good 18 years with his family in happiness, despite his disease. Trent was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy when he was eight years old. Though it was a hard trial to handle, with his wry sense of humor he made it look like a piece of cake for most his years. Through everything, Trent faced it all with a strength that was more than just physical. Trent's greatest goal was to make it to the celestial kingdom and celebrate his life with his father, who preceeded him in death ten years before. He especially loved his grandfather, Christopher Gilbert, who spared no pain, along with the rest of the family, to help him. His grandpa is his hero.

He loved his dogs, Jake and Grizz. He was patriotic and loved anything to do with the military. He enjoyed Star Wars and dinosaurs. He loved unusual facts and was always researching "useless knowledge". He studied the Gospel of Jesus Christ and looked forward to the day he would be able to receive his own endowments in the St. George Temple, which occurred last November.

Trent is like no other before him. His courage and faith gave everyone around him hope. Trent had humor and love for life, even though he was eager to go to heaven and escape the pain that was part of his body. He died well and most certainly will be missed. We all know that some day we will see Trent again, but at that time he will physically be the strong young man he always was.

He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Gilbert and step-father Todd Branin; siblings: Adrianna Gilbert, Dallas Gilbert, Sierra Gilbert, Trampas Gilbert, Austin Branin and Cheyanne Branin; grandparents: Chris and Marla Gilbert, Curtis and Chris Ilkenhans; great-grandparents: Don & Myrna Mangum.

Preceded in death by his father, Trampas Gilbert; uncle, Robert Ilkenhans; great-grandmother, Ruth Gilbert.
