Tom White

Richfield, Utah

Richfield, Utah – Our beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend, Thomas Eugene White, 72, unexpectedly left this world on July 17, 2016 in Eureka, California to return to live with our Heavenly Father. He was born November 29, 1943 in Salt Lake City, to Ardell and Marjorie Rosser White.

Tom grew up in Salt Lake City and at the age of 17, he joined the Navy, serving in active duty in the Philippines as well as 4 years in the reserves.

In 1970, Tom married Nancy Stone. After 34 years of marriage they divorced.

In 2010 he met his sweetheart and best friend, RaeLynn Poulson Moody. They were married May 19, 2012 in Richfield. Tom adored Rae Lynn and spent the time they had together making sure she knew it. They enjoyed traveling, playing cards, attending the temple and just being together with friends and family.

Tom was honored to be a veteran and loved serving his country. After sustaining injuries in the Philippines, Tom went on to serve as commander of the Utah DAV Honor Guard where he officiated well over 1,000 services for fellow veterans, he was so proud to be an American.

Family always came first in Tom’s life. The joy he got from being a father to the even greater joy he got from being a grandfather. Whether he helped to build it or taught them how to use it or attending it right there on the front row, Tom would do anything for his family.

Tom was always up for adventure. He loved camping, hunting in South Dakota and loved spending summers fishing with his brother, Bob in northern California. Just last week he outdid his brother by catching the biggest halibut. Boy, was he happy.

Tom was an active member of the LDS Church where he held many callings. He loved being an ordinance worker in the Jordan River Temple and was currently serving as a cub scout leader in the Richfield 3rd Ward.

Tom is survived by his wife; children: Tom Jr. (Dena), California; Trisha (Tom) Langford, Eagle Mountain; Kimberly (Travis) Ricks, Clearfield; step-children: Michelle Albrecht, Jennifer (Tom) Bailey, Joel (Kerry) Moody and Matt Moody, all of St. George; Lyndsey (Kai) Neilsen, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren, 13 step-grandchildren; siblings: Bob, Gary, Jeanne.

Preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Logan Ricks
