Theron Leslie White

April 2, 1928 — June 29, 2016

Theron Leslie "Les" White, 88, beloved father, grandfather, uncle and friend passed away June 29, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Theron was born April 2, 1928 in Eldon, Utah to Francis Lorenzo and Ethel Bates White. He married the love of his life, Wilma Mansfield on October 14, 1947 in Ogden, Utah. Their vows were solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on April 10, 1961. They lived in Ogden, Clinton, Roy and Ephraim, then moving back to Clinton. Together they had 8 children. Theron loved his wife dearly and both Theron and Wilma loved their children and took great pride in them. She preceded him in death November 25, 2011.

Theron proudly served in the US Navy during WWII. Later he worked various jobs before he went to work at Hill Air Force Base. He hired on as a WG 5 and worked his way up to a branch chief in the old Supply Directorate. He made many friends while traveling all around the country representing and purchasing supplies for the Air Force.

Theron was active in the LDS Church, holding many positions including being a bishop, counselor in several bishoprics, and serving on several stake high counsels. He and his wife served a two year mission in Roy, Utah at the stake employment office helping many people find jobs. He made friends wherever he went and was an easy going person. He changed many lives and influenced many people. He was a caring and loving man. He prided himself in living his life in accordance with the teachings of the LDS Church and loving the Gospel.

Theron loved to go fishing, traveling and telling a good story. He loved to help others in various ways.

He is survived by his sons: Kenneth (Debbie), Robert (Dixie), and Alan (Shannon); and daughters: Helen (Mike) Stone, Jeanne (Gary) Thackeray, Carol ( Dan) Kruitbosch, Debbie (Ned) Walker and Lesley (Robert)Prigmore; his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Graveside services and interment will be held on July 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ephraim Park Cemetery. A viewing will be held prior to services starting at 10:00 a.m. at the Magleby Mortuary, 195 W 100 N in Manti. Military honors will be provided by the Manti American Legion Post #31. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
