Edward Lincoln "Ted" Thomson, 81, of Ephraim, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his wife and family at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, UT on November 15, 2012.

Ted was born February 9, 1931 in Ephraim to Andrew and Gladys Thomson. He married Ethel Taylor in the Manti Temple on October 7, 1953. He will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Ted was a member of the LDS Church where he served as Elders Quorum President, Young Men’s leader, and as a home teacher.

Ted was a great dad and grandpa. He loved to watch his son and grandsons play sports. He was a devoted fan of the Manti Templars and drove school bus for 39 years where he touched many lives and made many life long friends. Ted was a hard working rancher and farmer. He felt honored to be named King Cowboy for Sanpete County in 2007.

Ted is survived by his wife, Ethel; daughter, Marilyn (Stan) Ballard, Payson; sister, Norma (Ezra) Spence, Taylorsville; grandchildren, Brook Davis, Nathan Thomson, Justin Thomson, Jason Thomson, Keelie Snow, Tyler Thomson, Aubree Thomson, Danielle Thomson, Easton Thomson, and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Kay, grandson, Clint Ballard, parents, two brothers and three sisters. Ted loved life and will truly be missed.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ephraim Stake Center, 400 East Center. Friends may call on Friday, November 23, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Church and prior to services on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Ephraim Park Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
