Suzanne Nicholls Cox, age 71, of Manti, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother returned home to our Heavenly Father January 19, 2025 after a courageous battle with chronic illnesses that not everyone understood, but one she faced with remarkable strength. Surrounded by the love of her family, she is now at peace, free from pain and suffering.

Suzanne was born on September 17, 1953 to Erick and Elga Nicholls, the third of four children. She was preceded in death by her older brother, Glen Nicholls, her parents, and sister-in-law Charmaine Nicholls.

On September 16, 1971, Suzanne married the love of her life, John Cox, with whom she celebrated over 55 years of marriage. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.

Suzanne was a hard worker throughout her life, connecting with people as a licensed cosmetologist, manager, and business owner. As a natural social butterfly, Suzy contributed to the community through her service to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, worked as an EMT, and alongside John, Carol and Andy Shaw helped establish the Manti Demolition Derby. As a derby driver, she was known for her fierce competitiveness and skill-some even say she was more aggressive and won more heats than John himself!

Suzanne shared her many talents with others which included quilt making and her love of flowers with arrangements and wreaths.

Priceless memories were made camping in our beautiful mountains, especially one of her favorites, Six Mile Canyon. Suzy was a well-traveled woman, having visited several countries in Europe; she had a curious spirit that led her to enjoy exploring new places and meeting new people. She had a special way of making everyone feel like family. Suzanne’s home was always full of family, friends, and neighbors.

Suzanne is survived by her husband, John Cox; children, John Dustin “Dusty” (Stephanie) Cox, and Nicole “Cozy” (Jason) Nelson; Grandchildren; Addison, Ashley, and Avery Nelson, Cortlynd, Trace, and Bridger Cox; London and Allie Irons; brother, Dale Nicholls, and sister Carol (Andy) Shaw.
