Our dad, Stephen Kirkham Wanlass, 79, passed away April 23, 2018 at his home in Monroe. He was born January 16, 1939 in Austin, Utah to Floyd Kirkham and Naomi Stephenson Wanlass. He married Mary Dickinson, later divorced.
Steve was a member of the LDS Church; also a member of the Sons of Utah Pioneers and Elks. He was a life-long farmer. He enjoyed being in the outdoors and attended mountain man rendevous whenever he could. He enjoyed sitting around a fire, sharing stories with family and friends. He was a great Dutch oven chef.
Survived by his children: Rodney Wanlass, Monroe; Brenda (Dwayne) Brown, Salina; Paulyn (Doug) Pace, Teasdale; Russell (Christine) Wanlass, Elsinore; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; siblings: Lawrence (Linda) Wanlass, Fairfield, CA; Jolene (Gordon) Parker, Joseph.
Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael (Kristy) Wanlass.
The family would like to thank IHC Hospice, and Jason Okerlund for their loving care of our dad during his last days.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Magleby Mortuary Chapel, where friends may call Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday morning from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Monroe City Cemetery.
