Stanley Lewis Simmons, 82, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family, July 12, 2012. Stan was born May 13, 1930 in Manti, Utah, to Elmer Bert and Mary Mabel Simmons.
Stan graduated from Manti High School and from BYU. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Stockholm Sweden. He continued active in missionary service through out his life.  He married Christa Zietz, his eternal companion, in the Manti Temple on June 30, 1961. He spent most of his life as the co-owner and operator of Simmons Furniture and Hardware in Manti. He is fondly remembered as an avid outdoorsman and fearless off-road driver. Stan is survived by his wife and sons, John, Roy, Jared and David.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 12:00 Noon in the Manti Tabernacle, 90 South Main. Friends may call at the tabernacle Monday from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00-11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Manti Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
