Our loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Stanley William Holgate, 72, passed away October 28, 2013 at his home in Monroe. He was born July 25, 1941 in Monroe to Carl and Ardella West Holgate. He married Sandra E. Mueller in 1961, La Mirada, California. They enjoyed 52 years together.
Bill worked for Hughes Aircraft as a mechanic for 32 years. He fixed anything they had, as well as rebuilding machinery. He retired at age 55 and moved from Fullerton, CA to Monroe in 1996 where he was a great help to his parents. He knew how to fix anything— electrical, plumbing, cars, etc. A jack-of-all trades, he was willing to help anyone. He enjoyed gardening and then eating the fresh vegetables he grew.
Bill loved camping, fishing, hunting, and just being together with family. He was a good teacher to his children and taught them the things they needed to know in life. He created great family times. He will be missed greatly.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; sons: Steven William (Stephanie) Holgate, Whittier, CA; Stanley Michael Holgate, Trabuco Canyon, CA; grandchildren: Drew, Samantha, Tristan, Sari; and great-granddaughter, Olivia; siblings: Carlyn (Lucille) Holgate, Las Vegas, NV; Velda (Larry) Bohne, Murietta, CA; Lewis (Chris) Holgate, Ogden; Gary Holgate, Elsinore; Vicki (Clyde) Hanson, Las Vegas, NV; Dean (Zandra) Holgate, Elsinore; JoAnne (Marty) Robinson, Las Vegas, NV.
Preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation services have been held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
