Skylar Trunnell
Escalante, Utah
Skylar William Trunnell was born on June 2, 1992 in American Fork, Utah to J. Golden and Tammy Atchison Trunnell. He was a beautiful baby with big eyelashes and a smile that would light up the room. Skylar grew up in Provo, Heber and Vernal Utah. After his high school graduation, he joined the Marine Corp and was off to Camp Pendleton for basic training. He obtained the rank of E-5 Sergeant. At this time he married his high school sweetheart and first love, Kelsie Johnson; they later divorced.
He married Autumn Jade King on June 28, 2017, they divorced in 2021 but still maintained a good relationship. Together they shared their two beautiful children: William Howard Trunnell and then daughter, Danielle EmAlene Trunnell. He took pride in both his children's achievements and would tell anyone who would listen about his angels. Skylar’s other loves were playing his guitar, riding motorcycles, time with his dad, being in nature and just like his mom, he loved cats.
He loved all his sisters. He had so much fun with Lexie on the farm in Mapleton. Riding horses, the golf cart, the tractor and riding lawnmower was a dream come true for a kid before he could drive. He helped Stan with the fences and stacking hay in the barn and laughing with his mom.
On November 2, 2021, our wonderful son, brother, uncle, husband, father, and friend died by suicide, near Escalante, after bravely navigating treatment of his mental health struggles for many years. We are grieving the loss of such a funny, intelligent, and loving human in our lives, yet find comfort knowing his body and mind are now free of pain. We love Skylar, and are forever proud of him.
Skylar is survived by his parents: J. Golden Trunnell and Tammy (Stan) Eggen; sisters: Chalyce (C.B.) Johnson, Shantel (Tyler) Hardy, Lexie (Tim) Colburn; step-siblings: Brett (Ashley) Wright, Emily (Brett) Beyer, Tammy Morrison.
