Sheril Jay Lewis
August 11, 1960 — August 3, 2016
Sheril Jay Lewis, 55, passed away August 3, 2016 in Salt Lake City from complications of a lingering illness. He was born in Salt Lake City on August 11, 1960 and was adopted as in infant into the family of Merrill E. and Sherry Dickinson Lewis.
He was raised and educated in the Salt Lake Valley. After graduation, Sheril moved into the aero space industry and has lived all over the United States, working on many projects.
He enjoyed life. With his adoptive family coming from the Sevier, Piute and Garfield Counties, he loved hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with friends and family up in the mountains.
He is survived by his mother, Sherry Lewis of Salt Lake City; sister Dawnieta "Dawnie" (Rod) Benard of Sandy; brother, Lane (Cindy) Lewis of Tucumcari, New Mexico. He is preceded in death by his father.
A gathering of friends and family will take place on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at the family home, 770 East 4070 South, Salt Lake City. Funeral Directors, Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
