Sandra Christiansen
Mayfield, Utah
Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Sandra Lynn Irwin Christiansen, passed away on March 4, 2024, in Salt Lake City after a courageous battle with Leukemia. Sandy was born November 22,1957 in California and raised by Howard and Ruth Irwin.
Sandy attended Manti High School where she was active on the drill team. She graduated in 1975. While attending high school and cruising Manti main street she met her one love, Richard Voorhees Christiansen. They were married March 12, 1977. Together they raised four children: Jennifer, Jason, Cash, and Ciera. Sandy loved spending time with her family. She especially loved the time she got to spend with Richard going onrides, fishing, camping, or just spending time on the mountain.
Sandy was one outstanding woman and loved by many. She was always doing something for someone and never thought of herself. If you needed her, she was there. She loved watching her kids and grandkids doing the things they loved. From dance competitions to ball games of all kinds she would be there cheering them on.
Sandy was good with people, and it showed in her hard work as a cashier, waitress, housekeeper, and scrub tech. She recently left from 15 years with Proteor where she worked as a technician and team lead. She loved the many people she met and got to work with. She cherished the many friendships made.
Sandy is survived by her children: Jennifer (Bart) Mortensen, Centerfield; Jason (Tiffany) Christiansen, Ephraim; Cash Christiansen, Mayfield; and Ciera (Cole) Hermansen, Centerfield; 9 grandchildren; one soon to be great-grandchild; biological mother, Erna Russel, Arkansas; and siblings: Paula, Joyce, Nancy, Brenda, Brian, and Dennis.
Preceded in death by her husband Richard; parents; in-laws: Stanley and Valine Christiansen; brother Steve Russell; and granddaughters: Madison and McKenna Mortensen.
