Ruth Anderson

Manti, Utah

Our beloved mother, Ruth H Anderson, 90, passed away on August 15, 2016 in Manti. She was born in College Ward, Cache County Utah on November 30, 1925, to Earl and Alta Hansen. She served a mission in the Eastern States and married Dell B Anderson on July 21, 1949 in the Logan LDS Temple. They were the parents of eight children including: Melinda, Rebecca, DellRay, Shirley, Beverly, Gregory, Loraine and Carolyn.

She and Daddy Dell met at the institute at USU, where he sang bass and she sang soprano and played the piano. Their first date was a pajama dance, when he picked her up wearing pajamas, and serenaded her on the harmonica during intermission. They were ballroom dance specialists and performed amazing floor shows.

Mom graduated from Snow College after raising her family. She worked hard to improve special education in the state. She played the organ in church and was a fantastic gospel doctrine teacher. She once bricked a chimney in a snowstorm. She sewed beautiful dresses for her daughters. She was Dad’s best veterinary assistant.

Mom was true to what she believed in and had an optimistic outlook on life. She sent individual Christmas gifts to each of her posterity every year – totaling close to 100 gifts per year! She was a ray of sunshine and will be sorely missed.

Along with her children, Mom is survived by her grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; and brother Paul Hansen.
