Ruby Beth Olsen Black of Ephraim, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on October 22, 2014 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah at the age of 88. She was born on June 15, 1926 in Ephraim, to James G. and Bellmay Bessey Olsen. She was the seventh of eleven children. She married her childhood sweetheart, G. Stanley Black for all time and eternity on December 19, 1947 in the Manti Utah Temple.
Ruby was known for her work ethic. She worked as a telephone operator for the Mountain Bell Phone Company. She was an office manager for many clothing manufactures.
Ruby enjoyed working in her yard, grooming her many flower beds and garden. She was active in the LDS Church serving in leadership and teaching callings. Ruby loved working at the Manti Temple.
Her passion and love were her husband and family. She is survived by her children: Kenneth George Black, West Valley City; and Teena (Tim) Lafferty, Santa Clarita, California; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sisters: Thelma Morris, Mary Jean Daniels, and Barbara Jensen. She was preceded in death by her sweetheart, Stan and parents.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ephraim Stake Center, 400 E Center, where friends may call from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Ephraim Park Cemetery.
