Royal Jensen, 91,passed away January 14, 2014 in Gunnison. He was born August 8, 1922 in Mayfield to Royal Welcome and Leah Venessa Hill Jensen. He married Maxine Barney, December 23, 1944 in Centerfield, The marriage was solemnized February 15, 1958 in the Manti Temple.
Royal was in the Army where he was a camouflage specialist and was also trained in handling bazookas. He was proud of his positions in the military.
Royal worked 28 years at Hermansen Roller Mills. He also worked for South Sanpete School District for 16 years. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served as secretary in the High Priest Group and in the YMIA.
Royal is survived by his wife of Centerfield; children: Rolland Jensen, Price; Fred (Mary) Jensen, Rapid City, SD; Kevin (Tammie) Jensen, Centerfield; Reed (Lori) Jensen, Richfield; and Michele Jensen, Mayfield; 22 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson; siblings: Dale (Maurine) Jensen, Richfield; Phyllis Gregerson, Centerfield; Maxine (Phillip) Black, Eagle Mountain; William (Karen) Jensen, Mayfield.
Preceded in death by parents; siblings: Virlie, Aleda, and twin sister, Roella.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 20, 2014 at 12:00 Noon in the Centerfield Ward Chapel, 210 South Main, where friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and Monday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Centerfield Cemetery with military rites by the Centerfield American Legion Post #105.
