Rosalie Trejo Curtis, age 81, passed away at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, November 4, 2012, due to complications from a knee infection.
Rosalie was born on July 21, 1931 in Eden, Arizona to Rozella Hancock and Emuel Trejo. She served an LDS Mission in the Eastern Canadian Mission. She married Max Errald Curtis, in the Mesa Arizona Temple on December 7, 1956. Rosalie attended the Good Samaritan School of Nursing in Phoenix, Arizona and graduated as a registered nurse in January of 1954.
She loved serving the Lord in the mission field. It was a special time for Rosalie who was very shy but learned to teach others about the gospel. She worked in the nursing field for over 50 years. She touched numerous lives through the compassionate care and service she gave over her nursing career. Caring for others was a great source of comfort throughout her life.
One of Rosalie’s great joys was her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Max Curtis; children, Marci Zwygart, Jennifer Warenski, Brian Curtis, James Curtis, Jeannette Dalebout, Carolyn Bettfreund, 37 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; siblings, Norma Pickett, Emily Cook, Milton Trejo and Larry Trejo. She was preceded in death by her sons, Errald, Chris and Brett Curtis; parents; and sisters, Patsy Utley and Francis Fay Trejo
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Monroe 4th LDS Ward Chapel, 50 East 200 North in Monroe. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary in Richfield on Thursday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. and at the ward chapel in Monroe on Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Monroe City Cemetery.
