Ronald A. Shaw, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and true friend to all, has passed on to his heavenly home and rightful place with our Lord and Father on February 27, 2016 in Aurora, UT. Ronald was born June 6, 1935 in Aurora, to Glen Thomas and Mattie Christensen Shaw.
Ronald served his beloved United States Army from 1958 to 1960, during which he was stationed in Korea for 13 months as a mail clerk. After which he served in the Army National Guard for an additional four years.
Ronald is survived by his beloved wife and life long best friend Ruth Marie Hansen Shaw, who was his high school sweetheart. They married January 17, 1957 in the Manti Temple, after which they made a home for themselves in Aurora until present time and raised their family. In his free time there was nothing more important than spending time with his family.
Ronald loved the gospel and enjoyed serving a three year mission with his wife at the Bishop's Store House in Sigurd.
Ronald is also survived by his son, Ronald Dwayne (Roene) Shaw; and daughter, Karren Christine (Andrew) Freeze; 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Donald Gene Shaw. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Darlene Shaw and brother, Arvon Shaw.
The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation for the Hospice staff for their loving care and kindness.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Aurora 2 nd Ward Chapel. Friends may call on Friday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Magleby Mortuary, Richfield and prior to services at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery with military honors. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
