Ron Rasmussen

Ronald Dean Rasmussen, 76, passed away April 19, 2020 in Richfield, Utah. He was born September 16, 1943 in Salina to Philo and Velma Day Rasmussen of Redmond, Utah. He spent his childhood running and playing in the hills of Redmond, keeping everyone wondering where he was.
Ron graduated from North Sevier High. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Scotland and also served in the National Guard. He married Marjorie in the Manti Temple and they have five children: Chad, JulieAnn, Natalie, Melanie and Russ. He has 19 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Ron worked for Granite school district to provide for his family and spent his later years in Sevier County. He was later divorced and married Susan Colleen Dastrup. He enjoyed mowing lawns, working on cars and being a helping hand for anyone in town. Ron was a great example of patience and service. He will always be remembered as the "talker of the town" roaming around in his purple truck.
He is survived by his children: Chad, Natalie, Melanie and Russ; 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Wendell Rasmussen, Phyllis Rush, Jerilyn Despain, Elaine (Alan) Gurr.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, JulieAnn; parents; grandson, Tyler Rasmussen; wife, Susan Colleen; and brother, Von Rasmussen.
