Roger Earl Utley,79, passed away in Spanish Fork on February 26, 2016 of natural causes. He was born May 3, 1936 in Joseph Utah, the only child of Earl and Ila Dunn Utley. He was raised in Joseph and graduated from South Sevier High School in 1954. He was a member of the South Sevier basketball and baseball teams and played basketball at Snow college. Roger then attended Brigham Young University where he received his bachelors degree in business.

Roger started his employment working for JC Pennys and Hercules. He spent the balance of his career at the BYU bookstore and retired after 35 years as the bookstore manager. He was an active member of the LDS Church serving faithfully in many callings. He loved his family and attended every one of his children's games. Roger loved the outdoors, especially riding horses. He was an avid BYU sports fan.

He married Helen Jean Rasmussen and they had four children together. He is survived by his children: Gregory Scott Utley, Riverton, UT; Kendall Gary (Vivian) Utley, Portland, OR; Jeanine (Scott) Reeves, Lindon, UT; daughter-in-law, Becky Utley, Redding, CA. Roger was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Roger Utley and his parents. He has 13 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 4, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Canyon Ward Chapel, 3477 East River Bottom Road, Spanish Fork, Utah where friends may call Thursday evening from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Joseph Cemetery at 3:30 PM. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
