Roger L Stoker, 68, passed away peacefully November 30, 2015 in Richfield, with his family by his side. He was born July 14, 1947 in Richfield to Lloyd and Hazel Lewis Stoker.

The youngest of five children, Roger was raised in Circleville and later Junction, Utah. He graduated from Piute High School, class of 1965. He served in the Vietnam War from 1968-1969, with the 11 th ACR and 9 th Infantry Division, where he received a purple heart.

Roger married Naomi Langford on November 27, 1970 in Richfield. The marriage was solemnized November 10, 1979 in the Manti Temple.

Roger’s career of driving trucks started with Lays Construction, driving a cement truck. He was known as the Banana Man on the highways. Switching to L A. Young & Sons, he hauled heavy equipment throughout the state for 18 years. Later he started driving for Robinson Transport, hauling thousands of tons of coal to area powerplants and the rail line in Levan for 25 years. He created friendships with all who passed him on the road.

He loved hunting and fishing and being in the outdoors.

Roger is survived by his wife of 45 years and six children: Richard (Juliare) Stoker, Richfield; Angela (Kirk) Payne, Monroe; Joyce (Joe) Kunz, Redmond; Deanna Stoker, Elsinore; David (Sheradee) Stoker, Richfield; Wayne Stoker, Richfield; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; sisters: Leona Grover, Idaho Falls, ID; Linda Ann (Bob) Barney, West Valley City; many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Kent Stoker, Kenneth Stoker; brother-in-law, Loren Grover; sister-in-law, Lila Stoker.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 7, 2015 in the Richfield 5 th LDS Ward Chapel, 800 North 500 East. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 or at the ward chapel on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery with military rites by the V.F.W Sevier Post #5050 and the Utah Honor Guard.
