Roger Burns Jensen

Roger Burns Jensen, 66, passed away July 30, 2013 at his home in Manti. He was born, November 14, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Burns A. and Dorthella Miller Jensen. He married Lynn Peterson, July 15, 1967 in Centerfield, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She preceded him in death July 1, 2011. Roger never stopped mourning the loss of his one true love and greatly anticipated the day they could be together again.

Roger served in the Utah National Guard. He was an auto mechanic and later was a driver for Walmart. He was a great father and grandfather and enjoyed taking his family with him hunting and fishing. He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving faithfully in his callings.

He is survived by his mother, Dorthella of Salt Lake City; children, Robert (Sally) Jensen of Genola; Roger Lynn (Angie) Jensen of Manti; Rachell Jensen and Brad Whitlock of Manti; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister, Darwin (Gwen) Jensen of Scipio; Paul (Paula) Jensen of Redmond; Larry (Janice) Jensen of LaVerkin; Kevin (LaRene) Jensen of Paonia; Wyo, Jack (LeAnn) Jensen of Centerfield; Lynnette (Kay) Jensen of Salt Lake City.

He is preceded in death by his father; son, Burns Jensen.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Manti LDS Stake Center, 600 East Union, where friends may call on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Centerfield Cemetery with military rites by the Utah Honor Guard.
