Bob Gehrig

Borrt G. Gehrig, passed away march 8, 2021 at his home in Sacramento, CA. He was born September 17, 1929 in Oxnard, CA, to Anna Kellerhals and Robert Adolf Gehrig, both of Bern, Switzerland.
Bob lived in Bell, CA until 1934. He next lived in Downey, CA until 1940. Then, he lived in Gardena, CA until 1943, when his mother died. After her death, he went to the Pacific Lodge Home for Boys until 1945. Bob then moved to San Francisco, CA, where he attended Mission High School. He moved to Milbrae, CA, where he graduated from San Mateo High School in 1947. He moved to Willits, CA in 1948, and in 1950 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and served four years as a flight radioman (AL3) in the MARS Seaplane in VR-2, NAS Alameda, CA., and was honorably discharged August, 1954.
Bob married Colleen Bagley on June 4, 1954. They moved to Sacramento, CA where he attended Sacramento City College (graduated with an A.A. degree), then attended Sacramento State College (graduated with a B.A.). He taught school for the San Juan Unified School District for five years, then attended Loma Linda University from 1964 thru 1966, where he received a B.S. in Physical Therapy, and was certified/licensed in January 1967. Bob began his private physical therapy practice in 1967, in Carmichael, CA, and retired in 1998.
Bob became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1954, and served in many callings during his life.
In 1996, Bob's beloved wife, Colleen passed away, and he married Phyllis M. Baker in 2003, who passed in 2016. Since 2016, Oni (who originally came in 2012) has been his dedicated full-time, live-in caregiver.
He is survived by his twin daughters: Heidi (grandchildren John, Ryan, and Lisa), and Connie (son-in Law, Michael; grandchildren: David, Steven, Adam, Lauren, and Jamie), and his treasured cat, Irving.
The memorial service is for private family only, but we invite you to watch the live stream services on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at https://www.pricefuneralchapel.com/ under Bob’s obituary page.
