Robert “Bob” Smith, 88, passed away to join his eternal companion, Juanita on January 13, 2017 in Panguitch, Utah. He was born June 7, 1928 in Panguitch to Albert Earl and Amelia Deuel Smith.
He served in the Army during the last part of WWII and part of the Korean War. After being discharged from the Army, Bob married his sweetheart, Juanita Sparks on April 10, 1953. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple, June 14, 1965. She preceded him in death September 13, 2008.
Bob worked at Hill Air Force Base. After retirement, they moved home to Panguitch where they built their home and also was able to fullfill another longtime dream of opening a gardening company: Color Country Nursery.
He is survived by his children: Bonita (LaRell) Cottle, Robert Jr (Sue) Smith, Patricia (Doug) Ball, Carol Combe and Thomas Smith. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Panguitch LDS Stake Center, 550 South 100 West. Graveside services will follow in the Panguitch Cemetery with Military Honors by the Panguitch American Legion Post #25 and the Utah Honor Guard.
