Robbie Openshaw, Garland, Utah
Robert “Robbie” Henry Openshaw of Garland, Utah passed away unexpectedly in Ogden, on January 21, 2024, at the age of 32. He was born on November 12, 1991, in Tucson, Arizona to Matt Kohler and Netti Openshaw. Though his parents parted ways prior to his birth, Robbie was surrounded by loving family including his mother Netti; grandparents, Robert and Joan Openshaw; his aunts: Naomi Kralovetz and Leah Reynoso, who helped raise him, and his beloved uncle, Brigham Openshaw who was like an older brother, but had passed away two years ago.
To his family, Robbie was caring and thoughtful with a penchant for small acts of kindness. He was caring and quiet and a staunch defender of the underdog. Though childless himself, he cherished his younger sisters, whom he affectionately called “Little Sistas”.
Robbie Openshaw carved his own eclectic path through life. Though unconventional and confounding to some, to those privileged to really know him, he was caring, thoughtful and authentically himself - marching to his own drum till the very end.
In recent years, Robbie found stability, direction and joy while reconnecting with family. He took pride in his work in manufacturing and massage and had dreams of building a bright future. Coworkers and family alike appreciated Robbie’s quirky sense of humor, creativity, and small acts of service.
Robbie was preceded in death by his uncle Brigham Openshaw. He leaves behind his caring mother Netti; sisters: Chavah, Hanna, Zoey and Ellie Kralovetz; aunts, uncles, cousins, coworkers and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 2 at 12:00 Noon in the Magleby Mortuary in Manti where friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Manti City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti. Online guestbook at www.maglebymortuary.com
Robbie will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched with his fierce authenticity. His family takes comfort in memories of his infectious smile and warm hugs. “I think we all have a Robbie-shaped hole in our hearts now,” said his Aunt Leah. “No one can replace Robbie.”
