Dr. Robert Oldroyd

Robert G. Oldroyd, MD, 53, of Pinehurst, died at his home on Friday, May 29, 2015. He was born August 16, 1962, in Richfield, to Lorin Klar and Barbara J. Oldroyd.
Dr. Oldroyd was raised in Richfield, and was a graduate of Richfield High School, class of 1980. After graduation, he served an LDS mission for two years in Argentina. He later attended and graduated from BYU where he obtained his B.S. in Science. In 1986 he married Linda Vance before attending the Chicago Medical School where he earned his doctorate in 1991. Dr. Oldroyd had served his anesthesiology residency at the Brook Army Medical Center, San Antonio, TX and was later an attending physician at the Walter Reed Medical Center, Washington D.C. In 1999 he joined the Pinehurst Anesthesiologist Assoc. An avid golfer, he also enjoyed traveling and was a pilot; but of all his accomplishments, Robert was most proud of his family.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; children: Nathan Oldroyd and Braden Oldroyd, both of Wilmington, NC; Samantha Oldroyd, Chapel Hill, NC; and Joseph Oldroyd, Pinehurst, NC; parents, of Richfield, Utah; brothers: Paul K. (Debra Ann) Oldroyd, Azle, TX; David Todd Oldroyd, San Francisco, CA; Richard A. Oldroyd, Salt Lake City; and Dr. Matthew L. (Lisa) Oldroyd, Southern Pines, NC.
Funeral services were held in North Carolina on June 3. Local services will be held Monday, June 15, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Richfield 2 nd Ward, 700 West 200 South, where friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
