Robert Bruce McDonald, 85, of Salina passed away May 4, 2016 at his home surrounded by family. He was born June 19, 1930 in Salina to Norman Clarence and Eydthe Lenore Bell McDonald. He married Thelma Carol Miller July 13, 1950 in Richfield. She preceded him in death January 17, 2005.

Bruce loved horses and enjoyed being in the mountains, rodeos and being with friends and family. He often held barbeques with family and friends. Bruce was a lineman for Utah Power and Light for over 17 years and 11 years with Provo City Power. After retirement Bruce and Carol enjoyed going to Ajo, Arizona and Fishlake. He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his children: Marcia (Robert) Herman, Lehi; Janet (Dick) Gates, Salina; and Gerald McDonald, Salina; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Rollo D. McDonald, Salina; sister, Dolores V. Evensen, Los Gatos, California.

He is also preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carol; grandson, Bruce Richardson; great-grandson, Alan Robert Herman; brother, Norman Charles McDonald.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 12:00 Noon in the Salina Stake Center, 98 West 400 North, where friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Aurora Cemetery with military rites by the Salina American Legion Post #36. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
