Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and hero, Robert Alvin "Bob" Mathie, 84, returned to his Heavenly Father in Richfield, Utah on September 10, 2017. Bob was born on November 22, 1932 in Howe, Idaho to Ferd Robert Mathie and Mary Lucille Brown. He married Janet Miller in Paris, Idaho on March 6, 1953. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 24, 1958. Bob and Janet spent most of their adult lives in San Jose, California where he worked for many years in the automotive service business, owning a successful car repair shop and auto parts store. They retired in 1998 and moved to Richfield.

Bob was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings through the years including service in the bishopric and in the Young Men's organization. He was a master mechanic, a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and an example of integrity to all of his posterity.

Bob and Janet are the parents of 6 children: Craig (Kim) Mathie, Monroe; Curtis (Shauna) Mathie, Tracy, California; Cathryn (Roger) McDowell, Snowflake, Arizona; David (Shelley) Mathie, Pleasant Grove; Kelly Jo (William) Cleverly, Heber City; and Christopher (Kim) Mathie, San Jose, California. His 23 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and special "granddog" Murphy lit up his life.
