Robert“Bob” Keller
Manti, Utah
Robert Clark Keller, 90, passed away peacefully March 9, 2012, in Ephraim. The oldest son of Clark and Lucile Anderson Keller, he was born May 4, 1921, in Manti, and lived there most of his life.
Bob joined the Utah National Guard in 1939 while still in Manti High School. In February, 1941, before he graduated, he was inducted into the Army with his unit. His tour of duty in the Pacific included Hawaii, Phoenix Islands, Christmas Island, the Marshall Islands, the Marianas, the Philippines, Okinawa and Ulithi. He returned home to Manti in July, 1945.
Bob worked in textile manufacturing, carpet installation, fuel delivery, and other occupations, and attended Snow College. He enjoyed many outdoor activities, especially at the Anderson family cabin at Fish Lake. He also collected and restored antique and classic automobiles. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He is survived by two brothers, F. Conrad (Margaret) of Manti, and Daniel C. (Athlen) of Price; seventeen nieces and nephews, and numerous grand-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister E. Anne (Clyde) Jensen; nephew, Joseph Keller’ and niece, E. Verona Keller.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 17, 12:00 Noon, in the Manti 6th/8th Ward meetinghouse, 295 S. Main St. A viewing for family and friends will take place 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in the Manti City Cemetery with military honors.
